Biography

Imogen is a London-based harpist working as a soloist, freelance orchestral musician and recording artist. She performs extensively across the UK at leading cultural institutions and concert venues, and is increasingly in demand for studio recording and media projects.

She graduated from the Royal College of Music in 2021 with a First Class Honours Degree, studying as an RCM Scholar with Professors Daphne Boden, Stephen Fitzpatrick and Ieuan Jones. She previously studied with Miriam Keogh at the Junior Royal Academy of Music.

Imogen has recorded at Abbey Road Studios for Atlantis Duo, performing music by film composer Bear McCreary, and continues to work with contemporary composers including Deborah Pritchard. She appears on albums by Grammy Award-winning artist Imogen Heap (Sparks and Harry Potter and the Cursed Child), and has recently performed and recorded for television and forthcoming film projects.

As a freelance orchestral harpist, Imogen performs regularly with orchestras across London and the UK. She has played with the Britten Pears Orchestra on multiple occasions, appearing at the Royal Festival Hall and Snape Maltings Concert Hall under conductors including Marin Alsop, Semyon Bychkov and Edward Gardner. She has worked with distinguished conductors such as Bernard Haitink, John Wilson, Jessica Cottis, Sian Edwards and Jac van Steen, and has also performed with ensembles including Orion Orchestra, Chelsea Opera Group, London International Orchestra and Bath Festival Orchestra. In 2021 she was selected for the BBC Symphony Orchestra Pathways Scheme, mentored by Louise Martin.

As a soloist and recitalist, Imogen performs regularly at many of London’s leading cultural institutions, including the British Museum, Victoria and Albert Museum, Wallace Collection, Tate, Royal Academy of Arts and the Courtauld Gallery at Somerset House. She is in demand for performances at venues including Kensington Palace, Hampton Court Palace, the Tower of London, the House of Lords, Snape Maltings and Two Temple Place. She is currently Resident Harpist at The Lanesborough and has previously held residencies at the Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park and St Ermin’s Hotel.

Imogen has performed for HM King Charles III at Windsor Castle alongside Sir Thomas Allen and Dame Sarah Connolly, and for members of the Royal Family including the Duke of Gloucester and the Duke of Kent. She has performed at festivals including Latitude Festival and the London Jazz Festival.

A versatile ensemble musician, she is a member of Eddie Parker’s contemporary jazz ensemble, the Debussy Mirrored Ensemble, performing at venues including the Cheltenham Festival and the Purcell Room (broadcast on BBC Radio 3). She performed in the premiere of David Ryan’s contemporary opera Inscriptions (2023).

Alongside her performing career, Imogen is committed to music education. She teaches privately and at the Royal College of Music Junior Department, coaching orchestras and chamber ensembles, and leads creative workshops in schools. She has worked with Britten Pears Arts and the Tri-borough Music Hub, and has presented for television and at the Royal Opera House.

She has performed in masterclasses with Gwyneth Wentink, Claire Jones, Marisa Robles, Anneleen Lenaerts, Jana Boušková, Stephen Fitzpatrick, Cathy White and David Watkins. She has been mentored by Jana Boušková, Eleanor Turner and Royal Harpist Hannah Stone. In 2016, Imogen was selected to study in Switzerland at Harpmasters with Karen Vaughn (RAM) and Irina Zingg (Civica di Scuola Musica Claudio Abbado, Milan).
